Custom Cabinets in Chilliwack: Questions We Get Asked
These are the questions we hear most from Chilliwack, Sardis, Promontory, Garrison, Abbotsford, Mission, Hope and Agassiz homeowners when they first call about custom cabinets. If yours is not here, email info@rivervalleymillworks.com or call (604) 701-6877.
Do you build custom cabinets for homeowners, or only for builders?
Both. Homeowners across Chilliwack and the Fraser Valley come to us directly for kitchens, vanities, built-ins and closets, and we also build for general contractors, custom home builders and interior designers across the Lower Mainland. The process is the same either way: measure, 3D shop drawings, approval, build and install.
How does a custom cabinet project work?
We measure the space at your home, draw the job in 3D so you can see the layout, door style, colour and hardware, and send you a written quote. Once you approve the drawings, the cabinets are CNC-cut and finished in our Chilliwack shop and installed by our own crew. You deal with one company from the first measure to the last handle.
How long does a custom kitchen take?
It depends on the size of the kitchen, the finish and how busy the shop is, so we give you a build and installation date with your quote rather than a guess up front. Smaller pieces such as a vanity or a media wall move faster than a full kitchen. If you have a deadline, say so when you ask for the quote and we will tell you whether we can meet it.
Do you install the cabinets?
Yes. Our own installers deliver and fit everything we build, in Chilliwack and across the Fraser Valley and Lower Mainland, including the North Shore and Squamish. We do not hand the job to a third-party installer.
Will you build a single piece, such as one vanity or a fireplace built-in?
Yes. Single vanities, media walls, mantels, window seats, closets, desks and dining tables are regular jobs for us, not add-ons. Send a photo of the space and rough dimensions and we will quote it.
Do you work with interior designers and contractors?
Yes, and a large share of our work comes that way. We produce shop drawings to the designer's or builder's specification, coordinate appliance and plumbing cut-outs, and schedule installation with the other trades. Bring their drawings to the first conversation and we will quote from them.
What are the cabinets made from?
Cabinet boxes are 3/4-inch material with soft-close hinges and drawer slides as standard. Doors and panels are made in-house in painted, stained, wood veneer or textured melamine finishes, and all finishing is done in our own spray booth so colours match across the whole job. LED lighting is supplied by others; we build the channels and valances for it.
Where is the shop, and can I visit?
We are at 107-44981 Commercial Court in Chilliwack, BC, open Monday to Friday from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm. Visits are by appointment so someone can walk you through samples and current jobs on the floor.
How do I get a quote?
Email info@rivervalleymillworks.com or call (604) 701-6877 with photos, rough dimensions, inspiration pictures or your designer's plans. We confirm requests the same day; small jobs are usually quoted within one to two days and larger projects within about a week.
