Custom Cabinets for Abbotsford Homes, Built in Chilliwack

If you are renovating a kitchen in Abbotsford, you have three ways to buy cabinets: a big-box kitchen package, a showroom that resells someone else's boxes, or a shop that designs, builds and installs the cabinets itself. River Valley Millworks is the third kind. Our shop is at 107-44981 Commercial Court in Chilliwack, about 25 minutes east of Abbotsford on Highway 1, and we have been building custom cabinets and millwork for Fraser Valley homes since 2003.

How a project runs

We start with a site measure at your home in Abbotsford, Clearbrook, Auguston, Sumas Mountain or anywhere else in the city. From the measure we draw the job in 3D so you can see the layout, door style, colour and hardware before anything is cut. Once you approve the drawings, the cabinets are CNC-cut and finished in our Chilliwack shop, then delivered and installed by our own crew. One company owns the whole job, so there is no gap between the person who drew it and the person who installs it.

How we build

Cabinet boxes are made from 3/4-inch material rather than the 1/2-inch or 5/8-inch boxes common in packaged kitchens, with soft-close drawer slides and hinges as standard. Doors and panels are made in-house, and finishing is done in our own spray booth, so colour matches across a whole kitchen and we can match an existing finish when you are adding to a room.

Working with your contractor or designer

Many of our Abbotsford jobs come through a general contractor or an interior designer. We produce shop drawings to their specification, coordinate appliance and plumbing cut-outs, and schedule installation around the other trades. If you already have a designer, bring their drawings to the first conversation and we will quote from them.
